About me
Our school received State STEM certification this school year, yes, in the midst of a pandemic! I have been teaching at the same school for 22 years where science has always been placed on the back burner because "science didn't count" except to those of us who always believed it did. I don't ever think subjects should be pitted against one another, instead all subjects should be valued equally. I enjoy doing cross curricular activities. One of the reasons I was inspired to become a teacher was because my great aunt taught in a one room school house for many years, she wasn't allowed to marry, but her school children were her family and she was an amazing woman. Many of here students were simply there to learn the basics and then work the farms of Paulding county, but they valued what education they managed to get. I too believe that we should value education, however much or little one wants to attain, value it and hopefully you will want to seek out more. If my students leave me with the ache of curiosity, enough so they will search on their own, I feel I have been a good model. I hope students will want to take care of our planet and be good stewards.
