About me
Madeline Allen is a PhD student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University, where she works with Dr. Scott Steinschneider, and a 2026 ESIP Community Fellow. Her research explores deep learning for hydrologic prediction, with a focus on how model structure, input data, and regional information sharing shape model performance and reliability, particularly under changing and extrapolative climate conditions. Her broader interests include physical hydrology and geomorphology, hydroclimate extremes, hazard mitigation, surface water-groundwater interactions, remote sensing, machine learning, and statistical analysis.
